Watercraft
Insurance
Currently available in MD, DC,
VA and some surrounding areas.
During boating season, chances are you can’t
wait to launch your vessel. As you anticipate spending
an enjoyable and relaxing day on your boat, make sure
you’ve protected what’s most important:
personal safety and property value.
Whether you have a sailboat, fishing boat, ski boat, or
some other personal watercraft, you’ve made an
investment and need protection. If there is an
accident, theft, or some other mishap in the water,
you’ll want liability coverage as well as reimbursement
for any physical damage to the craft itself.
Besides the obvious risks associated with the use of
the boat on the water, there are additional risks to
consider while you’re transporting or storing
your boat, trailer and valuable equipment.
Some of the coverages available under a Watercraft
Policy:
- Bodily Injury Liability Protection
covers you in the case that you or a member of your
household accidentally injures another person in a
boating accident, and includes coverage for injuries
to swimmers and water-skiers.
- Property Damage Liability Protection provides
coverage if you hit and damage a dock, or if your
boat collides with and damages another boat.
- Medical Payments Coverage pays
for medical expenses resulting from injuries sustained
in a covered boating accident.
- Physical Damage Coverage for your
boat, motor and trailer covers you against the costs
of theft, vandalism, windstorm, hail, lightning, fire,
striking a submerged object, and explosion while you
are boating, launching, hauling, or storing your vessel.
- Substitute Watercraft Coverage
is an optional coverage that pays if you charter a
temporary substitute watercraft for up to seven days
if your own boat is unavailable due to a covered loss,
and has been repaired within ten days from the date
of loss.
You’ve invested a considerable amount of time,
energy and money in your boat, so it makes sense to
protect your investment.
This description of coverage is not an insurance contract.
Your policy is the contract that specifies and fully
describes your coverage. Conditions and exclusions will
apply. Not all coverage described is available in all
states.
