Motor Home
Insurance
Currently available in MD, DC,
VA and some surrounding areas.
Motor home owners need dual insurance coverage—protection
for you and your family both while on the road, and
while your home away from home is parked.
GENERAL COVERAGES
- Contents coverage pays to replace
property in your motor home that is damaged by fire
or lightning.
- Auto Liability coverage provides
protection for property damage or bodily injury claims
by a third party that result when you are found legally
responsible for a car accident.
- Medical Payments coverage assures
that you and the passengers of your motor home will
receive necessary medical and dental treatment following
injuries sustained in a covered accident, regardless
of who caused the accident. Your medical payments
will also be covered if you or your family is involved
in an accident as a pedestrian.
If PIP coverage is required in your state (see below),
Medical Payments coverage may not be included in your
policy in favor of PIP coverage.
- Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
coverage, which only applies in states where it is
required, provides you, your family, and any passengers
with no-fault insurance for medical, dental, loss
of work and other expenses, regardless of who is responsible
for the auto accident.
- Uninsured Motorist coverage will
pay for injury expenses incurred should you or your
passengers be involved in an accident with an uninsured
motorist, including hit and runs.
- Underinsured Motorist
coverage, which varies by state, offers payment for
your claims that follow an accident with another driver
who is found legally responsible but does not carry
enough insurance to cover your expenses. This coverage
often applies to payments for bodily injury only,
but property damage coverage is available in some
states.
DAMAGE TO YOUR MOTOR HOME
- Collision coverage pays for damage
to your vehicle caused by accidental impact with another
vehicle or object, or if your vehicle overturns. Maximum
payout is limited to the actual cash value (also known
as local market value) of your vehicle, less the collision
deductible.
- Comprehensive coverage offers
payment to cover most types of damage to your motor home
resulting from a situation other than a collision,
including fire, theft, flood, vandalism, and impact
with an animal. Maximum amount payout is limited to
the actual cash value of your motor home, less the “other
than collision” deductible.
Damages not typically covered include normal wear
and tear, mechanical and electrical breakdowns, and
flat tires.
OPTIONAL COVERAGES
- Towing and labor coverage pays
your towing and labor charges each time your motor home
becomes disabled.
- Rental reimbursement coverage
covers rental car charges when your vehicle is damaged
by a covered comprehensive or collision claim.
- Sound System coverage pays for
certain types of losses to your motor home sound
system, up to the policy limit.
This description of coverage is
not an insurance contract. Your policy is the contract
that specifies and fully describes your coverage. Conditions
and exclusions will apply. Not all coverage described
is available in all states.
